The short version

You can browse the whole catalogue without telling us anything about yourself. We have no accounts and no advertising, and analytics only runs if you agree to it.

Two things are recorded: when you follow a link to a store, and when you report a wrong price. Both keep a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself.

Who is responsible

Evriko compares prices for electronics and home appliances sold in Cyprus. We are not a shop: we do not sell anything, hold stock, or take payments.

When you follow a link to a store

Every offer leads to the store through our own redirect, and we record that it happened:

— which listing was opened and when;

— a salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address — we never store the address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into it;

— the browser's User-Agent string and the page you came from.

Why: to know which comparisons actually help people, and because referrals are how a price comparison site eventually pays for itself. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the service.

When you report a wrong price

The form stores which store's listing you flagged, your note if you wrote one, and the same salted hash of your IP address, which is there to stop one person filing the same complaint a thousand times.

The note is free text and goes straight to us — please do not put personal details in it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping prices honest.

Cookies and browser storage

— NEXT_LOCALE — remembers which language version you are on. Necessary for the site to work; no consent needed.

— evriko-consent — records your answer about analytics cookies, so we stop asking. Set only once you have answered.

— evriko-admin-token — sits in local storage on the admin page only, and only for whoever runs the site.

— PostHog cookies (names starting with ph_) — appear only after you accept analytics, and hold an anonymous device identifier. Decline and the library is never loaded at all, so they are never set.

Nothing analytical loads before you answer: the library itself is not fetched, not merely kept quiet. Refusing is one click, and you can change your mind from the footer at any time.

Who else sees the data

The site runs on Vercel (storefront) and on a server rented from Hetzner in the EU, behind Cloudflare. Those providers process data on our instructions in order to serve the pages.

If you accepted analytics, page views and a handful of named actions — a search, a product opened, a link to a shop followed — go to PostHog, which stores them in the EU. We deliberately turned off its session recording, its heatmaps and its automatic click capture, so it never receives a stream of everything you did.

What does travel with those events, because any web request carries it: your browser and operating system, your screen size, the page you came from, and an approximate location. The location is worked out from your IP address as the event arrives and the address is then discarded rather than stored — we went and looked, and not one stored event holds an address. What is kept is a country and a city, not you.

Errors are reported to Sentry so that breakages get noticed. Sentry is configured without personal data attached: no IP addresses, no request bodies. Sentry stores data outside the EU under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell data, and we do not share it with stores. A store never learns who clicked — only that a click came from Evriko.

How long we keep it

Click records and price reports are deleted 24 months after they are made. A job runs every night and removes whatever has passed that mark — the period is enforced, not merely stated.

Two years is enough to compare one season against the same season a year later, which is the only reason we keep this at all.

Price history belongs to the product rather than to you, and stays as long as the product is listed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to us recording it at all. Write to the address below and we will answer within a month.

One honest limitation: because we store a hash of your IP rather than the address, we usually cannot tell which records are yours. If you want a specific click or report removed, tell us roughly when it happened and what it concerned.

If you think we are handling this badly, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of Cyprus.
